Rubber Band Ligation


Rubber band ligation, also known as hemroid banding is as the words implies, pretty simple to work out what type of surgery it must be.

The Procedure

Small very tight rubber bands are inserted around the base of the hemroid with a device called a banding instrument. This will cut off the blood supply to the hemroid and thus the hemroid dies and falls away. Usually within 24 to 48 hours after the procedure has been done.

Doctors say that with hemroid banding the side effects involved are minimized compared to the other surgery for hemroids.
