PPH Hemroid Treatment

PPH Hemroid Treatment is also known as staple hemroids surgery. The PPH stands for procedure for prolapsed hemroids and therefore from the name you can deduce that this procedure is used mainly with prolapsed hemroids.

It is a relatively new procedure and has gained popularity amongst the medical profession as the recovery period for patients is faster than other surgery for hemroids.

This procedure works as follows:

They push the prolapsed hemroid back up the anus with a special tube. Then they go in the tube with sutures and sew the hemroid on the anus walls to hold it in place. This system then allows them to freely staple the hemroid all around against the anus walls.

The sutures are removed and the extra pieces of the hemroid tissues just hangs, so they cut off all the extra, leaving no loose pieces hanging.

The Problems

The biggest problem with this PPH hemroid surgery is that the hemroids have a bigger chance of returning compared to hemroid surgical removal.

The pain is very severe.

The cost is very high because the procedure needs to be done in a hospital.

Another downside to PPH is the risk that too much tissue is stapled and this could result to incontinence.

Off course not forgetting that there is always an element of danger with anasthetia.

Lastly, if the prolapsed hemroid is too big and does not fit in the tube, this procedure cannot be done.
